On the surface, I am like many other women and mothers out there: working full time, juggling ten million things at once, wanting a little bit more from life, and VERY tired. But there is more to me than meets the eye. I am actually a superhero by day AND night--- and giving birth has only served to reveal more hidden talents!
My cover story is that I am a Lead Math teacher by day in the public school system. Please note that this cover, in and of itself, includes too many powers and skills to mention and/or list. Everyone knows that teachers have a hard job to do--if not impossible. The fact that some teachers make a career out of loving and helping other peoples' children (who become their own) is the essence of a superhero.
I am also a newlywed to an awesome husband and a step parent to two AMAZING bonus (also known as step) kids. I also have a biological newborn daughter who is currently only a month, or so,old. Trying to both understand motherhood and balance it in my life...well that would be another awesome feat, right?
I manage this all while I live in a city that is pretty far from most of my family and oldest/closest friends. Balancing school, work, and family over the last year, has not been easy. And with all the life changes of marriage, baby, career change, turning 30, etc., life has been fast paced and hectic! Going from complete freedom over my life to my movements being dictated by others has been a challenge. But, out of the fire, a superhero is born!
